San Diego homeless can clear infractions if they agree to do this for 30 days
Those who are homeless and have a ticket or have been arrested by San Diego police officers can have the infraction cleared if they agree to stay for 30 days in one of the city’s large tented bridge shelters.
San Diego police Capt. Scott Wahl said the new program can help stabilize lives by getting people connected with services while allowing officers to enforce laws.
The 30 day requirement is because when the incentive was offered in the summer, 67 percent of the people who participated left the shelter the first day.
