What's next for Ariel Sosa?

A hearing on a motion for a joinder requested by the District Attorney is scheduled on September 4 for Ariel Sosa.

A joinder in criminal law refers to the inclusion of additional counts or additional defendants on an indictment.

Ariel Sosa' charges include alleged possession and transportation of meth. He has been MIA.

The prosecutor for this case is Deputy District Attorney Trent Timm. Sosa's attorney is Mr. Russ Clanton.

Charges were dismissed against his co-defendant Abdiel Parras Sosa in April with an option to refile.

The case to be added is  for additional co-defendant, Miguel Angel Garcia. He is charged with two misdemeanors and is represented by Mr. Ben Okin.

Has Sosa been picked up on his warrant?
Stay tuned for after court update.

Update:

Sosa is still MIA. Hearing was put over to October 3. Mr. Clanton said he was not in a position to agree on the joinder. Mr. Okin objected to the joinder, said he had not seen police reports and was not sure why the cases were being joined.

Mr. Timm told Judge Lawrence Killoran that "first we got the heavy", Sosa and then Garcia.

Both men's charges involve possession of cocaine. Sosa's case was filed in September 2018. Garcia's case below was filed in July 2019.

Garcia's charges:

Miguel Angel Garcia was arrested with both Ariel and Abdiel Sosa in 2018. Charges against him were not filed last year.
