City of Arcata Press Release:

The Humboldt County Community Corrections Partnership helped provide funding for 25 women to attend 2019 12th Annual Women Leaders in Law Enforcement Training Symposium (WLLE), and local agencies supplemented this funding which allowed a total of 30 women from the following agencies to attend: Arcata Police Department, Eureka Police Department, Fortuna Police Department, Humboldt Sheriff's Office, Humboldt County Correctional Facility, Humboldt County Probation, Humboldt State University Police Department, California Highway Patrol, Rio Dell Police, Blue Lake Tribal Police

The 2019 12th Annual Women Leaders in Law Enforcement Training Symposium (WLLE) was held in Santa Clara, CA from September 4th through September 6th, 2019.

While women in law enforcement have become more common, the overall number of female law enforcement professionals is far fewer than men.  Women in law enforcement have a unique set of skills and can encounter equally unique set of challenges. The mission of WLLE is to bring together law enforcement professionals in a supportive and empowering environment, enabling them to learn from the knowledge and experience of others. The training symposium's goal is to continue to provide dynamic, contemporary training presented by subject matter experts in their fields and designed to help develop both professional and sworn members of the law enforcement community.
