While you slept, Humboldt Bay Fire was busy putting out a fire at Super 8

Last night at 3:32 a.m., there was a fire at the Super 8 motel in Eureka. Same owners as Quality Inn and Townhouse. I just spoke with Battalion Chief Chris Emmons.

Humboldt Bay Fire responded to a three alarm fire. Loleta, Arcata, Samoa and Fortuna Fire Departments assisted. Fire was under control in 30 minutes. HBF was on scene for two hours.

$100,000 worth of damage. Four rooms were involved in the fire. Cause was a malfunctioning bathroom fan. No injuries.

Battalion Chief Emmons will put out a press release today.
