First District Supervisor Rex Bohn is at Carson Park right now, why?

First District Supervisor Rex Bohn is holding a press conference at Carson Park right now. I wasn't sure if I could  be at the press conference do I told Supervisor Bohn I would call him later and have added his remarks to the post.

This has to do with Rex and friends organizing funding for the 31st annual Trucker's Parade. The banner says Rex and Friends, continuing a community tradition. "The biggest thing in Humboldt County is our traditions."

"I was in the first Trucker's Parade and l9 parades since that one" Supervisor Bohn told me. "I have been helping the community for years and getting funding for this local tradition is just natural for me. I am doing this for the kids. It is also a great way to recognize the commercial transport industry."

Humboldt County Sheriff William Honsal, EPD Chief Steve Watson and Humboldt County Deputy Sheriff's Organization have all pledged "full cooperation and to help in any way they can," said Supervisor Bohn.

All proceeds from entry fees and sponsorships will go to the Boys and Girls Club. Board member Dale Warmuth was there today.

"I did not time when the trucker's parade would stop," said Supervisor Bohn. " I would have done this last year or next year. I already said that holidays are not about politics and I am campaigning after the first of the year."
