Leohner wasted time and money to get one contempt count out of six set aside

Petition granted and alternative writ issued in Leohner v. Superior Court for the County of Humboldt.

Deputy Conflict Counsel R.J. Leohner filed an appeal after Humboldt Superior Court Judge Gregory-Elvine-Kreis issued six counts of direct contempt and sanctions against Leohner in the Malang case.

"Let a peremptory writ of prohibition issue directing respondent superior court to set aside the adjudication of contempt and statement of punishment as to count 2 of its February 24, 2022 "Direct Contempt Findings and Order" in People v. Malang (Super. Ct. Humboldt County, No. CR2102316). The parties shall bear their own costs."
