John Chiv: Elvine-Kreis and his lawyer buddy got told in Judge Moorman's latest ruling

I just did a post on this case yesterday. Today by Judge's order, there is another special set hearing on September 16.

Can we please swap Mendocino Superior Court Judge Ann Moorman for Humboldt Superior Court Judge Gregory Elvine-Kreis and restore some dignity to what it means to wear a robe.

Judge Moorman holds criminals accountable and has an excellent grasp of the law. We could use some of her Mendocino rulings in Humboldt.

Read Mendocino Superior Court Judge Ann Moorman ruling on the motion to compel. I hope at the September 16 hearing defendant Elvine-Kreis and his lawyer lose and provide Kalin and his lawyer responses. If you got nothing hide, why are we revisiting the same issue for months. You have been told more than once by Judge Moorman,there is no absolute work product privilege. One of Humboldt's lawyer with one of the Humboldt's "leading" civil firms can't provide adequate documentation after several hearings?

How many hearings do we have to have to get defendant Gregory Elvine-Kreis to provide responses to plaintiff Rory Kalin's lawyers? Would your average defendant be able to drag things out indefinitely? Elvine-Kreis would throw and has thrown a tantrum if a case has too many hearings. I guess it is okay when it involves him and his buddies in a court system where he is in charge.

Elvine-Kreis is a Humboldt Superior Court Judge. His attorney works for a local law firm which itself is a blatant conflict of interest. Is he hearing cases with Patrick Griego and other lawyers from Janssen and Malloy? This question is posed to those who should be paying attention.

Even if he is not, his position as the Presiding Judge gives him a lot of power over the local court system and people's livelihoods. Could he not afford an attorney out of town? I doubt it. His atttorney is good friends with many Public Defenders and private attorneys in Humboldt. I have seen them around in town on more than one occasion.

Elvine-Kreis throws a hissy fit if he is asked to be recused from cases. He does not have the couth or the morals to do what other current Humboldt judges and retired Judges do and recuse himself except in the occasional case. Is it a coincidence that is happening after this lawsuit and increased scrutiny due to coverage about him? Then again, this is the man who thinks he as a Judge should party, hang out with Public Defenders on boats and socialize with Public Defenders. I know be doesn't like to read documents because he has said it in court. So did he even bother to look at the Code of Judicial Ethics?
