In deposition, Public Defender's wife admits friendship with "Greg"

Motion to continue trial requested by the defendants in the Rory Kalin vs Humboldt Superior Court Judge Elvine-Kreis, Public Defender Luke Brownfield and former Public Defender Marek was granted yesterday by Mendocino Superior Court Judge Ann Moorman.

Judge Moorman will issue a written ruling on the plaintiff's motion to compel. 

I am not going to post pages and pages of documents filed by either counsel but the excerpts below including the deposition by Luke Brownfield's wife confirms there is a friendship between Elvine-Kreis and the current Public Defender. 

This deposition is tame. Besides Kalin, the defendants know there are other people who have heard Elvine-Kreis call Kalin the derogatory slur mentioned in excerpts below. They know others have witnessed certain behavior. Whether more depositions become public, whether this case settles or goes to trial, Kalin's lawyers are doing a good job of documenting and calling out Judge Moorman's rulings. From LA to Humboldt, all over the country, there are many watching this case including the Jewish community. More and more people are hiring lawyers out of Humboldt as I said they would years ago. 

Elvine-Kreis is going through a divorce.
