I covered Matthew Oliver Gibson's arrest in 2021. On January 24, 2022, he was convicted in that sex offense case. Gibson took a plea. When I covered that case and the DA filed their complaint, all precautions were taken to protect John Doe's identity in the complaint and coverage.
John Doe was born in 2004. He is now of legal age and an adult not a minor. It is unfortunate that in a new civil lawsuit, his guardian ad litem and current attorney have mentioned the guardian's name all over the paperwork.
Gibson's name has resurfaced in a civil lawsuit filed on behalf of John Doe by his guardian in litem against the Fortuna School District. There was a hearing last Friday. A Case Management Conference is scheduled on December 2. The civil lawsuit has allegations of molestation, sexual abuse and harassment by Matthew Oliver Gibson and Principal Mat Bigham.
The lawsuit is John Doe vs Fortuna Elementary School District, Mat Bigham, Matthew Gibson and Toddy Thomas Middle School. On 9/2 there was a dismissal without prejudice against Toddy Thomas Middle School only.
Kendra Keel is guardian ad litem mentioned in court records and court records filed in the civil lawsuit.
Guardian ad item is the appointment by a court of one party to act in a lawsuit on behalf of another party such as a child or an incapacitated adult, who is deemed incapable of representing themself.
For those concerned about John Doe, why don't you ask your legislators, local Judges, Rex Bohn, Virginia Bass, Michelle Bushnell, Sue Long, Mike McGuire and many of the local, "generational" and "business" families with arrests and criminal records who prance about this County like their shit doesn't stink what they are doing to keep you safe from numerous child molestors, abusers and criminals? Why don't you contact Kendra Keel and his attorney who should watch out for his interest?
Humboldt's and Fortuna's gossip circle already knows who John Doe is; many of the trash talkers who live on Facebook and online and out alleged victims and identities regularly when it is convenient. Any drama and outrage from the same people is only if when it affects them but they have no problem spewing garbage about others.
The guardian ad litem may not be related to John Doe. To trolls and anyone else who may have an issue with the documents and excerpts in this post, direct your anger at Kendra Keel and John Doe's current attorney who should have taken the precautions to file legal paperwork to conceal John Doe's identity.
If your concern is about really about sexual abuse victims; that is what you would do. Or you just expose yourself for blatantly using this or any other issue to silence and personally attack me because I dont ignore certain coverage like other local media and I write about someone you don't want exposed for selfish reasons.
