Humboldt Superior Court sued by Humboldt Deputy Conflict Counsel

There is litigation under closed session often on the agenda of the Humboldt County Board of Supervisors meetings.

One of the existing litigation to be discussed at the next BOS  meeting in closed session is yet another lawsuit by a County employee and a Humboldt Public Defender. Deputy Conflict Counsel R.J. Leohner is suing Humboldt Superior Court. Once again, Judge Gregory Elvine-Kreis is involved.

I am the only one regularly covering the lawsuit by former Deputy Public Defender Rory Kalin against Humboldt Superior Judge Elvine-Kreis, former Public Defender Marek Reavis and current Public Defender Luke Brownfield.

An attorney website lists Leohner's previous employment at the Orange County Public Defender.

I am not a fan of Leohner for good or the County of Humbolt and Humboldt Superior Court who are worse than hell with their abuse of power, dirty politics, toxicity and dysfunction.

This involves the order of contempt issued against Leohner by Judge Elvine-Kreis. I broke that news about this while covering the Delanoli Malang case. This is just Leohner putting on a show and in denial.

Regular readers know my opinion of Judge Elvine-Kreis. However,  the prosecutor in the case is Deputy District Attorney Trent Timm and I was in court to see Mr. Leohner in action.

The last ruling by the Court didn't go so well for Leohner. The Apellate court is considering their own sanctions against Leohner because he made statements under penalty of perjury that were untrue. Did Leohner not know or did he not care there are cameras in the courtroom? Other attorneys deal with Judge's rulings about evidence not being admitted.
