Criminal proceedings remain suspended for Kneeland homicide suspect who was found not competent to stand trial

Kneeland homicide suspect Austin Medeiros who also assaulted a correctional deputy was found not competent to stand trial. Both People and defense submitted on Dr. Wilson's report.

Medeiros was shackled in court and in a red jumpsuit which means he is in admin segregation.

June 20 is the next hearing for a CONREP report for placement. Judge John Feeney also ordered DHHS to do a med evaluation.

6/20: Committment to State Hospital. Confirmation of transport on 8/18.

818: Medeiros not transported. Confirmation of transport continued to 9/13/22.

9/13: Confirmation of transport continued to 10/13.

I was no longer doing updates because hearings are just on confirmation of transport. Then in November, there was a report due by Dr. Morris.

11/15:  No report from Dr. Morris. Another hearing scheduled for report on 12/12.

12/12 Dr's report continued to 12/19 by stipulation.

12/19: Ruled competent to stand trial. Preliminary hearing scheduled for 2/1/23.

2/1:  Medeiros held to answer. Arraignment on February 15.
