Yesterday alleged child molestor Bryan Sian's preliminary hearing was continued to 6/14 for setting of preliminary hearing/change of plea.
According to court minutes, the People made a pre-prelim offer. Deputy District Attorney Carolyn Schaffer and Deputy Conflict Counsel Owen Tipps were in private discussions when I stopped by to check on the hearing yesterday.
Court minutes state people's offer as a plea of guilty to Count 3-stipulated 10 year term; Count 4 stipulated upper term, consecutive full term and an added Count 5 PC 287 (c) (2) (a) stipulated low term 3 years consecutive, additionally a waiver of credits and an apellate waiver. PC 287 (c) (2) is oral copulation with a minor.
