DNA analysis, discovery, new witness delay homicide trial

(Hutson)

(Pease)

Deputy District Attorney Whitney Timm appeared for Deputy DA Carolyn Schaffer for trial confirmation in the Ian Pease and Travontae Hutson co-defendant homicide case. Pease also had his parole revocation case and two other cases on calendar. Victim is Perry Bailey.

Ms. Timm told Judge Wilson that Ms. Schaffer had communicated to Pease's attorney Ms. Kathleen Bryson and Hutson's attorney Mr. Zach Curtis that jury trial as currently scheduled could not proceed as usual.

There is outstanding discovery, DNA analysis, an alibi witness has just come forward and Mr. Curtis is in jury trial in the Gearold Sotolongo homicide case.

Trial setting is June 7.

6/7: Continued to 7/12 by stipulation.

7/12: Trial confirmation scheduled  for 8/29; jury trial for 9/6.
