Ray Christie trial set for August 1

Today at the hearing for Ray Christie he ruled against the latest defense motion on the 2018 raid. Jury trial is set for August 1. Trial assignment on July 29.

One exhibit and "map of carcasses " were excluded. Misdemeanor evidence is in. Judge Gregory Elvine-Kreis said "this case has been going on for years, that a lot of "this stuff is irrelevant" and the jury needs to decide.

"We are not having a Court trial in front of this Court and then a jury trial" said Judge Elvine-Kreis saying this was a quote he read in documents regarding the case. He also borrowed Mr. Rick Richmond's phrase, "lawyer talk."

I was going to do a separate post on the personal remarks by Judge Elvine-Kreis but he made it a part of court record today so it will be included in this post.

Unprofessional Judge Elvine-Kreis reacted exactly as I predicted. All of a sudden today, he agrees with Judge Christopher Wilson. He flip flopped and today it was the defense's turn to loose their motion.

Judge Elvine-Kreis telling Mr. Richmond that he is too thorough in his exhibit was a joke. A top Los Angeles attorney isn't going to be sloppy because a lazy man cant be bothered to read proper documentation.

Judge Elvine-Kreis made remarks about no more personal attacks while making personal attacks and digs in the courtroom.

The only one who is self serving is you "GEK". The lawsuit filed by Rory Kalin against you isn't an opinion; it is fact and court record. The apellate court overturning your ruling isnt opinion; it is a fact and court record. It isnt opinion that you are being disqualified by Humboldt private attorneys and public defenders. I could go on with more examples. The ones you don't read but went on a diatribe about this morning. You can claim you don't pay attention to blogs or what is said online, but you took time out in court to mention what got under your skin.

The only one self serving is you. You have ruled against your buddy Kamada taking the stand. You are pissed because you cannot control coverage about your bailiff Travis Mendes in court, your buddy Kamada's behavior in court, your divorce, the lawsuit filed against you by Kalin and other complaints about you by numerous parties. Ben Erickson is just one case that exposed you. And, I am the only one covering it like many other news ignored by local media.

The only one political is you. You stayed silent when Mr. Richmond made a personal remark about Deputy DA Steve Steward running for office at a previous hearing. But today, you pretend that you care about court decorum?

When the defense submits information that paints your buddy Kamada who is running for DA in an unfavorable light, you try to dismiss it.

Court minutes: There is a tiny error. Mr. Steward is the prosecutor on the Christie case. Matt is an excellent clerk and human. Deputy District Attorney Roger Rees and Deputy DA Jessica Watson are the prosecutors for the Sotolongo trial which is being held in Courtroom 3. Matt has to all the morning minutes, including an all day jury trial. The Christie case takes the air out of the room and drains every ounce of energy.
