I had contacted Mr. Rick Richmond after the People filed an opposition to the defense's latest motion regarding evidence from the 2018 raid in the Ray Christie case. I did a post earlier today on the People's opposition.
Mr. Richmon said they were filing a reply to the People's opposition today. Defense had already indicated at the last hearing they will have an update from Christie's doctor. There were 4 documents in today's filing.
Janssen and Malloy paralegals do the filings for the Larson Law Firm. For some reason, they wait until the very last minute before the clerk's office closes to file anything. This has happened the last two times. When I checked this afternoon around 1:30, there was nothing in the system. I also checked with the clerk's office.
I checked with Mr. Rick Richmond this evening. He told me "They tried. It’s unclear whether it was officially filed or not." I don't know what the reason is; maybe we will find out tomorrow. Humboldt Superior Court should allow e court filings, especially for attorneys out of the area.
I checked the computer and the defense filings are in the system.
Just like the People's opposition, I am not posting all the documents but excerpts.
Mr. Richmond gave me a summary from defense filings. Christie is scheduled for surgery for cancer on May 23. There will be follow up treatments. A post op appointment on May 31. Typical recovery is 1- 3 weeks.
"People have provided no facts in their opposition. They act as if admission of evidence in first trial is automatic admission in second trial. They are assuming Travis Mendes' evidence is sound. Adrian Kamada was told to preserve evidence by Judge Christopher Wilson. People admit video was lost by Kamada."
I read the People's motion and the video is addressed at length. Will Judge Gregory Elvine-Kreis' protect his buddy Kamada as he has in the past hearings from testifying? Kamada was the prosecutor for the first Christie trial. He is running for D. A. If he has nothing to hide, get on the stand.
Defense Exhibit B is what Deputy District Attorney Roger Rees sent me about Deputy DA Stacey Eads and Kamada on my blog. Another exhibit Exhibit is candidate Kamada's own election website.
