Good luck Stacey, RPM/PPM knows how to work the local court system. Local lawyers won't take them on in this small, enmeshed County. They know how to file a disqualification for the decent judicial officers in Humboldt Superior Court. Darus Trutna, Sheila Bearden, Henry Hammacher have ruined a lot of lives enabled by certain incompetent Humboldt Superior Court judges. Maybe with your filing and the lawsuit against Darus Trutna and Henry Hammacher for breach of contract by Real Property Management SPV, others who have told me horror stories will decide to take legal action.
**I have managed apartments for RPM previously and at that time, my feelings were civil. I rented from them in the last couple of years and let's say that my feelings about them are different. I have known both Darus and Sheila when I used to be more active in the business and political community. There is no comparison between Sheila who is well respected in the community for years and Darus who certainly parlayed the Humboldt connections to his advantage. Privately, many in the business community cannot stand him or his arrogance.
It isn't just Stacey or my experience with RPM. There are tons of local people you know and you like who have confided in me over the last several years about Real Property Humboldt including elderly grandmothers forced out on the streets. Online many locals have written about them. They are being sued in Utah by by Real Property Management SPV. So this isn't about one or two disgruntled people. RPM threatening to evict tenants who stand up and complain despite extensive documentation isn't in this one instance. It is about the system. It is about how the few in Humboldt who have cornered the Humboldt rental market and real estate feel they can treat other human beings. From City of Eureka Code Enforcement to Humboldt Superior Court, the system has failed the public.
In a small town, Real Property Humboldt uses their influence, access to money and weak people to bully. They aren't the only ones who do that but they are the ones who have recently been sued and twice. This blog is a voice for the People; for those unheard; for those whose stories are too financially inconvenient the other local media to cover.**
