The minimum action Arcata City Council can take against Brett Watson is a restraining order

In a revised agenda just issued by the City of Arcata, counsel recommends that the minimum action Arcata City Council should take is a restraining order against Brett Watson.

On April 15, I had contacted Arcata City Manager Karen Diemer and City of Arcata attorney Nancy Diamond today about the status of the investigation into alleged violations by Arcata Councilmember Brett Watson.

On April 18, Ms. Diamond responded, "I'm sorry not to have gotten back to you sooner. We don't have an update at this time."

The  Arcata City Council had received a report of potential violations of the City’s Anti-Discrimination & Harassment Policy by Watson and has hired an outside investigator to investigate the alleged violations. The press release about this is included in previous coverage.

Despite his DUI plea and now these alleged violations, Watson has remained on the council, making excuses for his behavior both in his DUI case and now for the sexual harassment allegations.
