HCSO Explosive Ordinance Device Team member describes devices in Waterfront explosion case 

 


At 3 p.m. this afternoon, 12 jurors were sworn in Waterfront explosion suspect Darin Vitolo's case. Selection of alternates will continue tomorrow after an 402 hearing right now regarding admissibility of evidence.

A bomb tech from HCSO Explosive Ordinance Device Team testified about his specialized training which includes being instructed on site by the FBI in Huntsville, Alabama. He described the explosive devices in this case.

Deputy District Attorney Luke Bernthal is the prosecutor. Deputy District Attorney David Celli is Vitolo's attorney.

Vitolo is charged in Count 1 with unlawful possession of a destructive device. Count 2 with unlawful possession of ammunition with a special allegation that he is not allowed to possess ammunition. Count 3 is possession of a controlled substance; meth.
