Will Brian Gerving be the next Eureka City Manager?

I received a tip that City of Eureka Director of Public Works Brian Gerving is one of the finalists for Eureka City Manager position.

I went over to City Hall and spoke with City Clerk Pam Powell who answered questions about the process.

Hew Life is the company handling recruitment for the next Eureka City Manager. Current City of Eureka Manager Greg Sparks is retiring at the end of 2019.

 Applications closed August 31. Eureka City Council will interview finalists on October 11 and October 12.

Part of interview process will include a community meeting where interested parties can meet with candidates.

"We dont know who the finalists are so we can't confirm or comment," said Ms. Powell.
