"I just want to go to trial"

Further trial confirmation was scheduled for murder suspect Zachary Harrison this morning to make sure Deputy District Attorney A.J. Kamada was okay with the jury trial date of September 16. Mr. Kamada was out of the office for the last court hearing.

Deputy Public Defender Brie Bennett spoke with Harrison privately and briefly. I heard him say, "I just want to go to trial." Unlike this booking photo, Harrison looked weary and tense in court.

"My client is unwilling to waive time," Ms. Bennett told Judge Christopher Wilson. "I just received 119 pages of discovery yesterday from Mr. Kamada. " Ms. Bennett also received a thumb drive on her way to court this morning. She is going to talk to Harrison. " At this time we confirm. I anticipate filing a 1050." That is a motion to continue.

Trial assignment is on September 13. Time estimate is three weeks.

Victim is Robert James Holtsclaw.
