John Chiv: Why is Kreis suddenly being assigned to high profile cases before the March 5 primary?

Twice, Mr. Michael Robinson asked about a judge to be assigned to the Jasen Coley case. Both times, Judge Cockrum said he had sent an email to the Presiding Judge Gregory Kreis.

Later, on November 29 after the morning hearing on Coley, guess who that case was assigned to? Judge Neel's name is on the order but we all know who calls the shots in the local courts; the Presiding Judge and the court CEO.

Deputy District Attorney Candace Myers is someone who is giving a deposition in the lawsuit former Deputy Public Defender Rory Kalin has filed against Judge Kreis. He should not be hearing this case but Kreis will say he has no bias and refuse to recuse himself just as he did in the Ray Christie case; the Cathie Childs case and that is just to name a few.

Tomorrow, there is an intervention hearing scheduled in the Coley case. An intervention hearing is in a closed courtroom. Will there be last minute surprises just like the sneaky plea and sentencing in Ray Christie's case?
