Steven Hudson arrested on Christmas for attempted murder and assault


Steven Jeremy Hudson was arrested by HCSO yesterday for PC 664/187(a) attempted murder and PC245(a)(1) assault with a deadly weapon. His alleged victim is Christopher Whited whose name appears frequently on the booking log. The weapon used was an axe/hatchet.

The DA charged Hudson with one count of PC 245 (a) (1) assault with a deadly weapon and special allegation PC 12022. 7 (a) inflicting great bodily injury. Hudson was arraigned on 12/28/23. Public Defender was appointed. Judge Steven Steward set bail at $65,000. OR/bail is scheduled for 1/2/24; preliminary hearing on 1/10/24.







1/2/24: Retired Judge Marilyn Miles denied OR & SR
Prelim remains set. Time estimate 1 hour.

1/10/24: After preliminary hearing, Judge Steven Steward held Hudson to answer on the assault with a deadly weapon charge. Hudson was not held to answer on the special allegation. Arraignment on information and hearing on bail on 1/26.



1/26: Arraigned on information; supervised release denied by Judge Kaleb Cockrum; bail reduced to $25,000. Trial confirmation on 3/6; jury trial on 3/18.
