John Chiv: EPD officers and one witness testify today at Widmark brother preliminary hearing, HCSO testimony tomorrow

One of the preliminary hearings for Brandon and Jesse Widmark started today and continues tomorrow. It was assigned to Retired Judge Marilyn Miles. Post updates include conclusion of this preliminary hearing as well as the preliminary hearing in the second case for both brothers.

Brandon Widmark was held to answer on most charges. Jesse Widmark held to answer on all charges.

Arraignment on information for both brothers is on December 28.

12/28: Brandon Widmark agreed to waive time; Jesse Widmark did not. Trial Confirmation is on 2/1/24; jury trial on 2/20/24.

1/17: Preliminary hearing was scheduled in CR2301420A/B. It was continued to 1/18 because no courtroom was available.

1/18: Held to answer as charged. Arraignment on information on 2/1.

2/1: In CR2301420A/B, both arraigned on information. Trial confirmation on 6/11; jury trial on 6/24. In CR2301419A/B, trial confirmation continued by defense. The 2/20 date vacated. Trial confirmation on 6/11; jury trial on 6/24.
