Defense declares doubt about Root Birmisa's competency to stand trial

 

Since my last post on alleged molestor Root Birimisa, he had hearing today with defense declaring doubt about his competency to stand trial. Dr. Sidhu was appointed to evaluate Birimisa. The preliminary hearing scheduled for 1/9/24 has been vacated. There is a hearing on 1/11/24 for doctor's report.

1/11:  Birimisa refused to appear in court. He was found not competent. Retired Judge Christopher Wilson authorized treatment facility can involuntary administer antipsychotic medication. Placement hearing on 2/1.

2/1: Birimisa ordered to be sent to the State Hospital. Confirmation of transport is on 2/29. These hearings often get continued for months. I am not going to be doing further updates unless there is a change or development in this case.
