Media was told to hold off on advance notice and I did listen and post after 8:45. Those sirens you heard starting at 8:45 just as I was walking up to Target and all those law enforcement cars are for the annual Shop with a Cop at Target.
I don't see any other media here and I was at Target until 9:40 a.m. Eureka Police Department, HCSO, Humboldt Bay Fire, Fortuna Police, Rio Dell Police and Yurok Tribal Police are here. This was not on my schedule today but I made time because in our small community we know our officers, these kind of events show a much needed positive side of our local law enforcement.
One little boy was so sweet. Instead of thinking about himself, he asked the officer he was with if he could call his sister and ask her what she wants. Now that is the true spirit of Christmas.
