Jack Lindsay Rawson was booked into the Humboldt County jail yesterday on an arrest warrant for PC 29800 (a) (1) felon in possession of a firearm. Rawson posted bond. Arraignment is on 11/16.
I haven't seen Rawson's name associated with the courts for years and last I heard, he was doing well and I didn't recall seeing his name on the jail log in 2023.
This arrest warrant for this charge is from a January 2023 incident. The complaint was filed in April. A declaration for that warrant was filed yesterday. When the court clerk receives the appropriate paperwork, a court date will be scheduled. The DA already has a case number with this one charge.
11/16: Public Defender appointed; 977 waiver of personal appearance filed; preliminary hearing scheduled for 1/23/24.
1/23/24: Oral motion to continue by defense due to outstanding discovery. No objection by DA. People make offer. Preliminary hearing rescheduled for 3/4.
3/4: Motion to continue preliminary hearing granted; rescheduled to 4/22.
