October 6 was the second day of the hearing on a request for a civil harrassment order filed by Deputy District Attorney Candace Myers against Jason Paines and Deven Thompson.
The hearing started on 9/15 and was continued to 10/6. The temporary restraining order was continued until 10/6. Commissioner Fran Greenleaf recused herself which is appropriate. Judge Timothy Canning also made a disclosure but the parties chose to proceed.
I don't know why the court minutes did not correct the name to Justin Paines. Myers got the name incorrect because for the address on her request for restraining order, there is a Justin Paines that is listed. I also verified that with ID that was provid.ed which I am not going to post on my blog.
I will add the October 6 minutes but they are not in the system yet and I checked again on 10/9 in the afternoon.
You can read the court documents enclosed for the allegations claimed by Myers. There are no minors in the protected parties and these are public documents. I am not going to treat a Deputy DA any differently than any other public figure like Brett Watson or anyone else filing a similar request.
If you read my blog regularly, you know my opinion about Myers from when she was an attorney with the City of Eureka and now with the DA's office.
