DA filed motion to increase alleged molestor Birimisa's bail

 


HCSO PIO Samantha Karges confirmed alleged molestor Root Birimisa was released on bail on Oct 7 at 8:30 p.m. He was booked into the Mendocino jail on October 8 with a bail of $680,000. In addition to DUI and hit and run charges, the Mendocino jail log includes charges and the Humboldt case number.

Bail at booking in Humboldt jail was $55,000. At arraignment, it was increased to $75,000. At the OR/bail hearing on 9/27, people objected to supervised release and it was denied by Judge Steven Steward. On 10/4, the preliminary hearing continued to 11/6 by defense. Time estimate is 1.5 hours. This morning, there was a motion to reconsider/ increase bail filed by the DA. According to court staff, Judge Kelly Neel increased his Humboldt bail by an additional $675,000.
