Jason Brisendine challenges Huffman, calls out MAGA Republicans and Democrats in his statement

 

Received this  email with a statement. "My name is Jason Brisendine and I am running for The United States House of Representatives with the mission To Eliminate Corruption In Congress."

U.S. Representative for California's 2nd congressional district Jared Huffman now has two challengers. I reported on the first Huffman challenger, Jolian Kanges, last month. 

Brisendine has not taken out the paperwork for signatures in lieu of filing fee or filed anything else with the elections office. He is a registered voter with no party preference. 

Bridendine's Linkedin profile lists public service specialist. There are two different locations for him on Google; Linkedin lists Eureka and Facebook Fortuna.

Despite being inundated with requests and messages, Brisendine responded to a couple of questions I asked, "I am a long time Fortuna resident, born and raised.  I do intend to simply pay the filing fee vs signatures in lieu of.  I’ll be filing paperwork with the FEC tomorrow, and the county office once available on November 8th." 

I think in his statement and on his website, Brisendine makes some valid points about both parties and corruption that anyone with an independent, open mind and your average hard working American will relate to; I know I do. Brisendine has a website. He will be adding more information and ways to get to know him. Rather than lengthy interviews which some media like to do and many are and will be biased for Huffman, I think it is always better for people to talk directly to a candidate.

Statement:

For the last seven years, Jared Huffman has blamed every problem our country has on what he calls “extreme MAGA Republicans.” Despite this, Jared Huffman just voted in support of Matt Gaetz’s resolution to remove Kevin McCarthy as Speaker of the House. Matt Gaetz is the leader of extreme MAGA Republicans in Congress. By supporting him, Jared Huffman has not only opened the door for a possible Donald Trump Speakership, but he has proven himself to be nothing more than a dishonest and divisive politician. 

Let’s be honest about some things. For the last two years, starting in January 2021 and ending less than nine short months ago, Democrats held the House, the Senate, and the Presidency. This gave them the ability to pass ANYTHING they wanted. Gun control. Abortion. Women’s rights. Affirmative action. LGBTQ+ protections. They could have passed legislation for all of it. Instead they chose to focus on January 6th and sending money to Ukraine. 

If you consider yourself a Democrat, you HAVE to acknowledge these realities. The Democrats had power over every branch of our government and chose to ignore all of the issues their voters care about. Let’s look at Ukraine. When Congress passed a clean, bipartisan spending bill to fund the government for an additional 45 days, Jared Huffman complained that it lacked additional funding for Ukraine. As of September 21st, American taxpayers have already sent $121,000,000,000 to Ukraine. This amounts to $749.30 per American taxpayer, or roughly $1500 for each working family. This is YOUR money. How do YOU want to spend it? Would you rather every American taxpayer receive a $749.30 refund or would you rather send $121,000,000,000 to Ukraine? Imagine what that money could do in our own communities. We need funding for mental health for the homeless. Will 121 BILLION dollars cover it? I’d think so… Whatabout additional money for seniors on social security? Increased border security? Poverty? Education? Vets benefits? What are YOUR priorities? If they are anything other than sending $121,000,000,000 and counting to Ukraine, please let Jared Huffman know. Gas in our district is over $6/gal. It used to be less than $4/gal. Prices are through the roof everywhere. 

Jared Huffman knows this is the result of policies HE supported. He just doesn’t care. This is why I have decided to run for office. I am not a politician. I don’t want to go to D.C. But I will do whatever it takes to protect America and my fellow Americans. Jared Huffman doesn’t care about us, but I do. I am calling on everyone in my district, and all Americans across the country, to stand shoulder to shoulder with me and say, “it is time To Eliminate Corruption in Congress.” Thank you, Jason Brisendine
