John Chiv: Judge Moorman are you in charge of your courtroom or defendant Judge Kreis and his lawyers?

The amount of paperwork, dates changing by the day and week and hearings being vacated in the lawsuit filed by former Deputy Public Defender Rory Kalin against Humboldt Judge Gregory Kreis, Public Defender Luke Brownfield and former Public Defender Marek Reavis is ridiculous.

I already wrote about the scheduled summary judgement and trial back in September and have wriiten about potential depositions before the October 6 hearing. Those dates mean nothing. Things get scheduled, changed and vacated. Until Kalin examinations are done and depositions complete, nothing new is going to happen.

On 10/2, Kalin's attorney files a document. On 10/3 Kreis's attorney withdraws the motion to compel which means the October 13 hearing is moot. That date was vacated.

Kreis's attorney did this a week before the October 13 hearing. Maybe if Kreis and his attorney didn't feel need to flex every other week to feed their bruised egos and demonstrate obvious fear about these alleged claims, Humboldt Superior court staff and resources could be used for other cases?

They keep fighting the same issues for hearings and the October 6 hearing on medical exams which was another unnecessary one because defendants are wasting local court resources and abusing the authority a system that defendant Kreis is in charge of and his co-defendabts have connection hoping Kalin will give up or give in. The defendants stand to lose more than Kalin and their actions show it. Now a week before Kreis' attorney files a motion to withdraw the reason for the October 13 hearing. Mendocino Judge Ann Moorman needs to lay down the law and show attorneys on both sides, especially the Humboldt court cabal, who runs her courtroom.

If any other civil defendant or local civil lawyer or law firm acted like this, little tyrant aka Napolean Kreis would throw a fit. Is Humboldt's embarrassment to the bench still on his European vacation with his boo? Can't wait for her deposition. Kreis is divorced now, are the two open about their relationship or is it still hush hush? Will anymore longtime court employees be "fired" or "let go" for stating the obvious? In a small town if you are out in public, in a grocery store, spending time together, people will recognize you. It is important that the public know relevant information about Kreis stated in court where it can't be silenced before the next election. Kreis' character, any alleged conflict of interest and all relationships in a small County and court are relevant. He sits and passes judgement on people every day. Kreis should resign but he won't because he is arrogant. Then he and his enabling buddies should face their accuser in a trial in open court and air out all the dirty laundry amidst the allegations. Every other defendant has to go through this process. Kreis and his buddies should be held to the same standards. For the $260,000 salary the taxpayers waste on Kreis compared to the actual time he works; not to mention the money his buddies at the PD's offices and those he "favors" in Humboldt Superior Court get, the least the public deserves is a show with all the secrets and underbelly of Humboldt Superior Court exposed. At least, what I write is with my name, court records and not anon fabrication spewed on craigslist, anonymous comment sections, anonymous blogs and anonymous emails meant to intimidate. Speaking of which where is Fred Fletcher these days?
