Shantaram Jones refuses to acknowledge his attorney, the Judge, face the camera or cooperate with probation

OR/bail hearing was scheduled this afternoon for Shantaram Jones.

Before his case was called, Correctional Deputy  B. Mendes told Judge Christopher Wilson Jones refused to come to court, again.

In response to Mr. Leohner, she said, "He is not usually combative. He says no but when people show up at his door, he says okay." Then he yells.

"He can yell at me," said Judge Wilson asking that Jones be brought to court.

After he was in the jail conference room, he refused to look at the camera or answer.

"Mr. Jones can you hear me?, asked Deputy Conflict Counsel R.J. Leohner.

Correctional Deputy B. Mendes confirmed that audio was working correctly. This was in response to a question by Deputy District Attorney Roger Rees.

Judge Christopher Wilson made a record of what has transpired in court since Jones' arrest.

His arraignment was continued twice. The third time when he was brought to court, "he was disruptive and used expletives." His mic had to be muted so arraignment could be completed.

Jones refused to cooperate with probation. He refused to acknowledge his attorney. He refused to face the camera.

Mr. Leohner withdrew his motion for supervised release without prejudice.

Bail remains set at $75,000. Preliminary hearing is scheduled for April 23.
