"We are now in a pandemic-induced recession here in the State of California " said Governor Gavin Newsom in his daily COVID 19 update today.

Governor Newsom said this has ended 120 straight months of job creation.

In March,  3.1 million Californians applied for unemployment benefits. This number does not include gig economy workers and few other groups.
