"We basically have this situation where it would be a logical choice for a lot of people to be unemployed"

The $600 per week unemployment benefit from the federal government was meant to help people weather the financial impact by the coronavirus.



Whether it is a coffee shop in Kentucky or a small business in Humboldt, some businesses that want to keep their doors open say it's hard to do so when employees can make more money by staying home.

"We basically have this situation where it would be a logical choice for a lot of people to be unemployed."

I have heard the same sentiments expressed privately in Humboldt that are mentioned in the NPR article.

  2. Oh and by the by your little 2400$ bonus is taxable you'll be getting a 1099G. Say hello to paying quarter quarterlys the next year but, you probably won't be making that kind of money anymore. You should probably go back to your job before it's too late if its even there.
