Brian Daniels arrested for DUI as well as hit and run

04-19-2020, at approximately 7:35 PM, the Humboldt Area CHP responded to a crash at the intersection of S. Broadway and Purdue Dr., in the Humboldt Hill area. Upon CHP arrival, officers discovered an overturned, unoccupied, Ford Mustang which had hit a pole and caused power to go out to a portion of the area.

While officers were conducting their investigation at the scene, 19 year old Adriana Christian of Eureka returned to the scene and stated she was a passenger in the Mustang at the time of the collision. Ms. Christian suffered a minor injury as a result of the collision but declined medical treatment on scene. Through interviews with Ms. Christian, as well as with additional witnesses, officers were able to locate the driver of the vehicle at a nearby residence. 20 year old Brian Daniels of Eureka was subsequently arrested for Felony DUI and Felony Hit-And-Run and was booked into the Humboldt County Jail.

Early reports of this crash indicated the Mustang may have been stolen. However, the registered owner was contacted by CHP and it was determined the vehicle had not been stolen.
