Other courts in California have contacted Humboldt to get information to implement similar operations during pandemic closure

Ran into Humboldt Superior Court CEO Kim Bartleson this morning while taking a walk. We chatted briefly.

I complimented her about the livestream and video conferencing and regular updates the Humboldt Superior Court has been sharing.

Court staff, IT, the bailiffs and correctional deputies are doing a great job. I am particularly impressed with Correctional Deputy Brittany.  Mendes. She is organized and her sensitivity in the way she communicates with the court regarding inmates when she is on the livestream is to be commended. Very basic information that is the same as in the courtroom.

Correctional deputies sanitize the area near the camera and the phone used in the jail conferencing room between every inmate.

The camera is muted in between cases and when defense attorneys need to communicate with their clients. Humboldt had the livestream up immediately after the local shelter in place order.

Ms. Bartleson told me other courts in California have contacted her because they wanted information to implement these operations and procedures .
