Boys and Girls of the Redwood needs your help

"Boys & Girls of the Redwoods Covid-19 Relief Fund
The Boys & Girls Club of the Redwoods has applied for the SBA PPP loan program, through Coast Central Credit Union, to reopen our doors for our members whose parents or guardians are essential workers in our community."

"We are working with the Public Health Department to make sure that it is done in a safe and responsible way. Executive Director of the Boys & Girls Club of the Redwoods, Monica Rose shares her concern, “Right now more than ever our youth need us! With the closure of schools and 60% of our community’s childcare facilities closed, there is a significant lack of safe places for our kids."

"Our families are being forces to leave their children at home while they go to work.” This expanded program will enable us to host 48 children, in small controlled groups at our Eureka Teen Center. "

"Program hours will be extended to focus on academic success, providing additional meals and snacks, and to provide a space to socialize safely. We will be increasing our staff to member ratio to 1:6 to ensure that all kids get individualized help with school assignments and that strict safety protocols are being met. Of course, there will be fun activities too!"

"When COVID restrictions ease, we will be resuming and expanding our regular programs. We anticipate a large increase in demand for our services as many parents will be forced to work extended hours and take second jobs to make ends meet when the economy opens again. We expect to see a lot of new members and a greater need for our afterschool programs and free meals."
