Rita Pimentel is represented by Mr. David Nims and her son Robert Fregoso is represented by Ms. Heidi Holmquist Wells. Deputy District Attorney Tobias Hasler filed for a continuance based on the unavailibility of his Chief Investigator. Defense had no objection. Motion was granted by Judge Timothy Canning.
A State Insurance agent from Sacramento will be in Humboldt for the preliminary hearing. Two Spanish interpreters have been requested by the defense.
Fregoso is charged with one count of worker's compensation fraud and one count of failure to secure worker's compensation insurance.
Pimentel is only charged with one count failure to secure worker's compensation insurance.
Intervention wa rescheduled for March 9; preliminary hearing for March 23.
