Bail for Ryan Tanner's second case was set at $360,000

Murder suspect Ryan Tanner was arraigned on a second case on February 28. Yesterday, I reported that Tanner got a new attorney, the People's request for no bail was granted, 12 new charges were added in his homicide case and Deputy District Attorney Adrian Kamada mentioned yesterday this new case had been filed.

Yesterday's post linked below has the entire complaint for the second case. At Mr. Russ Clanton's request,  Tanner's arraignment on the new case was rescheduled from yesterday to a new date. It was moved to 1:30 this afternoon. It was in the court system yesterday and on the online  court calendar since last evening.

Mr. Clanton was not in court earlier this afternoon. Tanner kept mumbling in court, looking puzzled and said, " I have never heard of these charges." At that time Judge Lawrence Killoran was not aware Mr. Clanton had been appointed. The arraignment was stopped and the court clerk tried reaching Mr. Clanton. Tanner was sent outside the courtroom until his attorney could  be located.

At 3 p.m. we learned Mr. Clanton was in the jail visiting Tanner. Finally, the jail staff relayed a message and he came to court. Mr. Clanton expressed surprise and said, "We had no idea there was a court date. I thought it was put over to Monday."

Then he said, "Oh it is a new arraignment."

Deputy District Attorney Jane Mackie was in court for the People today. Bail for the new case today was set at $360,000.

For now, both cases are on for intervention and bail review on March 2; preliminary hearing on March 3. Mr. Clanton said he had filed several motions to continue today because he will be out most of next week since his wife is having surgery and return on March 6.

Deputy District Adrian Kamada is the prosecutor for both cases. Mr. Russ Clanton is Tanner's attorney.
