Is "both sides have matters to address" code for the case isn't quite what it appeared at first?

Trial setting for alleged rapist Joseph Hall was scheduled on January 9. His attorney, Deputy Public Defender Wade Orbelian, was in trial so the hearing was continued to February 13. It was continued again to April 14.

Deputy District Attorney Carolyn Schaffer is the prosecutor for this case. She told Judge Kelly Neel both sides had matters to address before they could set dates.
