Tears flow in the courtroom and outside after Samantha Hanna's sentencing

Courtroom Five was packed today for the sentencing of Samantha Hanna. Tears flowed in the courtroom and outside as several family members were present

Victim for vehicular manslaughter was Dustin Finson.  Victim for stolen vehicle was Jeremy Brisco.

Hanna was sentenced to four years in prison; that term was suspended and she was placed on four years of formal supervision. Hanna was sentenced to 364 days in jail. She is in custody and got credits for 160 days.

Deputy District Attorney Trent Timm is the prosecutor for the case. Deputy Public Defender Wade Orbelian is Hanna's attorney.

I received this email from Heidi Finson who is Dustin Finson's attorney later today.

"Good Evening Mr. Chiv,

I wanted to take a moment to thank you for writing a blog about my brothers case. I wanted everyone back home in New Hampshire to know that we where fighting for him. Your blog was shared quite a lot in New England today. Maine, New Hampshire,  Vermont,  and Massachusetts."

I could not cover the victim impact statements since I was covering a plea at the same time and then a jury verdict.  I told Ms. Finson I would be glad to do another post about Dustin with a statement from her.
