Michael Acosta and Bryan McBeth and two others arrested at Acosta's residence

(Acosta)

(Mcbeth)

I reported on Michael Acosta's arrest this morning. Acosta posted bail and was out of custody by this afternoon.  Bryan McBeth is related to the well known McBeth family.  Bryan McBeth was released on O.R.

Bryan McBeth has three cases in the court system. He had one in 2016 for possession of meth. Bryan McBeth was represented in that case by Mr. Greg Rael. A deferred entry of judgement was entered and later there was a dismissal.

Acosta has represented Michael McBeth, Rob McBeth's son in the past. I did not cover that particular Michael McBeth case but I did cover Michael McBeth's previous case when Mr. Ben McLaughlin represented him.

Covering Michael McBeth definitely had consequences for me. As my regular readers know I cover cases other media regularly chooses to ignore because someone's status and connections have nothing to do with reporting the facts. Is the rest of the media clueless about the McBeth name or conveniently running a press release leaving that fact out?

The new court system will not display anything related to Acosta. I sent an email to court administration. They are looking into the cause and said this is a result of the new e court system.

I was able to locate two older cases for Acosta.

This is not Acosta's first arrest for meth. According to a source, there was meth found in Acosta's safe. That source the People dismissed the case because they felt they could not prove the meth belonged to Acosta. This was during the Paul Gallegos administration.

A 2010 case was also dismissed against Acosta. Charges in the case were connected to the Maggie Wortman case.
