$750,000 bail for Kevin Carns who faces life with possibility of parole

Bail was set at $750,000 for Kevin Carns who was arraigned this afternoon for his 2020 case. The Public Defender's office was appointed to represent Carns.

In his 2020 case, Carns is charged with assault with intent to commit first degree residential burglary; kidnapping to commit robbery and false imprisonment. Carns has one 2015 case and in that case he pleaded no contest to one count.

Deputy Public Defender Wade Orbelian was present for arraignment. Deputy District Attorney Trent Timm was in court for the People. Mr. Timm said Carns faces life with a possibility of parole.

Carns posted a $75,000 bond and that bail bond has not been exonerated. He ended up in custody after that so I will check tomorrow to see if charges were amended. Several charges were read in court today.

Two women were in court to support Carns.

Supervised release hearing is scheduled for February 24; intervention for February 27 and preliminary hearing for March 3.
