In the midst of darkness and the court system, a young lady turns her grief into something positive
Most of you know the story behind why I started this blog. For those who do not, I took what was personal loss and pain and turned it into an opportunity to create something beneficial for this community. The kind of reporting I do is not easy but it is days like today that I am reminded of the blessing it is to be a part of many people who follow their calling and their passion.
Through this blog, I have met many wonderful people. There are many stories and many conversations outside court; I have shared some. Today's post is about one of the families I have met covering a tragic case. They were at the Courthouse today but for a different reason.
One of the family members was sworn in as a CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate). I am not going to name who for confidentiality and their privacy. While still enduring her own grief and loss, this young lady has chosen to be a positive light for others.
CASA is a wonderful organization and I have seen the impact in childrens' lives firsthand when I worked for CWS and now covering courts.
