Gregory Kreis' client, Christopher Kinnamon, was arrested yesterday by Eureka Police Department for PC 148.9(a) false ID to an officer, PC 1203.2(a)(1) probation violation and PC 1203 probation. These are new charges.
Kinnamon entered a plea on 8/16/24 and was sentenced on 9/16/24 by Retired Judge Ksenia Tsenin.

Ms. Andrea Sulivan is Jesse Widmark's attorney. Ms. Rebecca Linkous is Brandon Widmark's attorney. While Ms. Linkous said she was always open to negotiations and an intervention; Ms. Sullivan said what Ms. Linkous implied. Ms. Sullivan stated on record that she had spoken to her client and "I don't think there will me a meeting of the minds." While resolution unlikely for Jesse Widmark, Ms. Sullivan also agreed to an intervention before trial. Readiness Conference was continued by stipulation to 12/11. 30 day time estimate for jury trial scheduled to start December 16; . Due to publicity, attorneys working on questionnaire. Mr. Rees said the December trial is only for lead case. After that trial, other cases may resolve.
Convicted felon Devon Demontigny was in court with her husband on 12/2. They certainly belong together. I should have known they were trouble from the moment they yakked and disturbed others outside the courtroom and continued that behavior in the courtroom. The bailiff in court that day looked exhausted and was not her usual self. The self absorbed Demontignys took full advantage to act out, oblivious to the fact that court was in session and disrespected everyone else. Devon was under the impression she was in an episode of The Real Wives of Humboldt County instead of a courtroom.

Foot Logic owner Jianzhao Dong is charged with four felonies. Count 1 & Count 2 PC 289 (a) 1 (a) forcible sexual penetration with a foreign object. Count 3 & Count 4 PC 243.4 (c) sexual battery by fraudulent representation. He is represented by Mr. Paul Gallegos.
Deputy District Attorney Carolyn Schaffer is the prosecutor for this case. Setting of preliminary hearing was continued by defense to 1/22/25 due to outstanding discovery. Document filed in court about stipulation of further conditions regarding the bond posted.
Convicted molestor Steve Boudreaux's retrial for Counts 1 to 5 was scheduled to start on December 2. Sentencing for Count 6 from the first trial is trailing.
I was not going to post anything about these lawsuits or other information the public should be aware of but other local media does selective coverage and Kernen Construction's permit will affect many people and their families. Most of my local readers, even those who have moved out of Humboldt but still read my blog, know I regularly cover lawsuits involving the good ole boys and news other local media ignores.
21 year old convicted felon Logan Brewer-Hearst has learned nothing. He was given a chance after chance, including today, to own up and be a man.
Instead, he whined. "This Court has put me in jail for smoking weed." Then he went on to respond to the allegations in the probation petition by saying "If they are going to put me into jail for every little thing, I just didn't show up."
Jason Matthew Renek was arrested by Eureka Police Department on a Ramey warrant yesterday and booked for 5 counts of PC 288(c)(1) lewd act upon a minor.
12/5: DA has charged Renek with 4 felonies. He was arraigned this afternoon.
So many people from Kernen Construction showed up for today's Board of Supervisor meeting that Clerk of the Board Tracy D'Amico and 5th street security had to tell them not to block people leaving the Courthouse on the 5th street side and that being out in the hallway was a safety hazard.
Harland Law Firm partner, Ms. Allison Jackson, was at the meeting. I was told two days later and this was not by Ms. Jackson or Kernen Construction but a third party in the know that Ms. Jackson was at the board meeting representing Kernen Construction.

10:56 a.m. Kernen has made a settlement offer. The item maybe continued to January 7. Director Ford asked for the continuance so staff could research and see if the offer was feasible. Director Ford mentioned the replacement of the culvert.
Supervisor Bohn is allowing some public comment as recommended by Planning and Building Director John Ford, which was limited to two minutes. This was a reminder of the sign placed outside.
North McKay Ranch Subdivision was the agenda item before Kernen Construction and it passed unanimously with 5 votes. Third District Supervisor Mike Wilson made the motion; the second was by Fourth District Supervisor Arroyo. Humboldt Planning Commissioner Thomas Mulder spoke in favor of the Mckay item during public comment clarifying he was speaking as an individual.
Today, there was a dismissal hearing in CV2401685 which is a lawsuit filed by Humboldt Transit Authority against Danco Builders et al.A notice of settlement was filed on 10/15/24. The lawsuit was filed on 9/6/24. The complaint was for personal injury by motor vehicle. I have included court documents which have details.

The only court date scheduled since the complaint was filed was a case management conference on 3/3/25. It was not heard because the case settled. This is the first civil lawsuit I have covered in Humboldt Superior Court which settled so quickly.

This morning 7th and I collision suspect Maria Cuevas has a preliminary hearing scheduled which is a special set assigned to Retired Judge Ksenia Tsenin. Due to her DUI charges, Cuevas is ineligible for diversion in California.
PC192(b) manslaughter, PC245(a)(2) assault with a firearm, WI777, PC25850(c)(6), PC25850(a) carrying a loaded firearm in public, PC25400, HS11351, HS11379(a), HS11378, HS11370.1(a). Some charges such as the manslaughter and assault with a firearm are from a new arrest; others from a bench warrant in his juvenile case. Juvenile cases are confidential and not accessible in the public court system.
The last post I did was in August 2023 when he was arrested by Probation for the second time in 2023.
