On 9/29, in the County of Humboldt vs Cathie Childs, the motion for preliminary injunction was continued by Judge Gregory Kreis to 10/27. A motion to quash is also scheduled for the same day.
A hearing on the SLAAP motion which will be heard on 10/9. I had written in my last post that Judge Kreis indicated he would deny the motion to disqualify himself. He did. Ms. Cyndy Day-Wilson plans to file a writ on response to the denial of her request.
If you haven't read my previous coverage on the lawsuit filed by County of Humboldt against Cathie Childs and the preliminary injunction, you should.
Court documents are included in this post. Instead of a summary, you should read them, especially the request to disqualify by Mr. Dustin Owens and the SLAAP motion by Ms. Childs.
After reading about this lawsuit, if you are a regular reader of my blog, you are already familiar with the many posts on the County, their handling of PRAS, Judge Gregory Kreis and the lawsuit and many other issues documented on this blog. Judge Kreis took over this case? Why? He is also the only judge who allowed the grand jury to release information about former auditor controller Karen Paz Dominguez during an election year that Rex Bohn and the County benefitted from. Both Rex and Kreis are up for re-election next year. They both need to go. Both are arrogant, defensive when called out, have embarassed this County nationally, vindictive and petty. Both are bullies and just the posts in the last 24 hours about each them show they can and will abuse their power that their position provides. I have my own experience of knowing and observing them both and covering them for years.
How you feel about them depends who you are in Humboldt, who your circle is and if your livelihood depends on them. If you have an open mind and the willingness to research and read on your own what is out there and and documented with ample evidence that Humboldt County would be a better and more prosperous place without these two in the positions they currently hold. Rex is Humboldt's little Trumplette and Kreis is Humboldt's little Napolean.
