State Parks arrested Delmar-James Key for criminal threats, domestic violence and brandishing a weapon

Delmar-James Key was arrested yesterday by State Parks and Recreation for PC 417(a)(1) brandishing a weapon or firearm, PC 422 criminal threats and PC 273.5(a) corporal injury on spouse or cohabitant.

Key is still in custody. He was arrested at College Cove Beach in Trinidad. I spoke with Mr. Keven Harder, Supervising State Park Ranger for Sue-meg State Park. "Our initial contact with Mr. Key was for illegal camping. Once my officer checked for warrants, he had PC 836  for these charges so we took him into custody for HCSO."

PC 836 allows California law enforcement to make warrantless arrests if there is probable cause to believe the suspect committed a felony."

Key was arraigned on 1/24. Public Defender's office appointed. Bail set by Judge Steven Steward at $35,000. Criminal protective order served on Key in court.

DA charged Key with three counts: PC 273.5(a) corporal injury on spouse or cohabitant, PC 422 criminal threats and PC 236 false imprisonment.

OR/bail on 1/26; preliminary hearing on 2/2.

1/26:  OR/bail motion denied.
