Regardless of how people feel about Cudney or Dirty Dave, this Facebook post is in poor taste and only Cudney's family can confirm or deny

 

A warrant had been issued at the last court date for Gary Cudney since he has missed the last two court dates. Cudney was charged with Dirty Dave's death. 

A few minutes ago, a reader sent me this email about a Facebook post shared on two local Facebook biker groups. 

Those posts were tactless and insensitive. Would the bikers even know this if they had not read comments online about Cudney on the same garbage site that has been called out before about the tacky way of revealing that someone has died. Anonymous comments and insensitive remarks plague only certain Humboldt sites and Facebook and are abused in Humboldt to a cowardly and disgusting level in Humboldt.

Fortunately, after the post, Cudney's family reached out to me and confirmed Cudney passed away on December 4.

"Hello, on the UBNC Facebook page is a post that Dirty Dave's killer, Gary Cudney, has died. Can you find out about this? I know he didn't show for court again and has warrants."

I tried reaching out to a friend of Dirty Dave's. As I explained to the reader, HCSO and courts are closed until Tuesday. The Coroner cannot release information and cause of death to media unless it is a homicide. There are other options such as checking if the warrant was recalled and if his lawyer files or presents court with any information. All that is premature for a unsubtantiated claim made on Facebook with no evidence.

If Cudney did pass away, his family members deserve privacy. Regardless of how people feel about Cudney or Dirty Dave, this  Facebook post is in poor taste. Only Cudney's family can confirm or deny.

After the post, I received an email from Kevin who is married to Kathi, Cudney's daughter. "John, Gary Cudney died on Dec. 24. "
