J.D.Grow's motion for expungement and dismissal denied

On 12/5/22,there was a hearing on the defense PC 1203.4 petition dismissal & expungementin Joshua Grow's 2016 case. The court referred it to probation and it was on for ruling yesterday.  The motion was denied by Judge Kaleb Cockrum. He said Grow is ineligible for PC 1203.4.

Defense 17 (b)  motion was granted without prejudice. A 17 (b) motion reduces a felony to a misdemeanor. Judge Cockrum wanted to hear from victim and get information regarding Grow's steps towards rehabilitation. E-court states case is closed and no future date is listed.

This case was one of the many cases covered only on my blog and ignored by the rest of the local media. Commenters on certain other local sites such as  Lost Coast Outpost called them out for this omission in 2019.
