Walking to the courthouse this morning, I recognize the shuffle and the face even from a distance. He walks towards me, "You got cash bro? You got speed bro?"
Gregory Taggart has been arrested for indecent exposure, is a frequent name on the daily jail log and most of his arrests are for public intoxication.
Gregory most often hangs around the Samoa Bridge, McDonalds. Sometimes in other areas in downtown Eureka and near the Courthouse.
The last post I did on him was on thety of mental health diversion. Gregory has been in the system for years.
Why is he still on the streets? Where is the tribal support, the mental services, where is his family while he wanders the street? The system and more than one "system" has failed him since he was a child.
The family lost his brother Benjamin in 2017.
1/18: Taggart was arrested by Arcata Police Department for PC 1203.2(a) probation violation and PC 647 (f) public intoxication.
1/23: Taggart arrested by EPD for PC 1203.2(a) probation violation and PC 647 (f) public intoxication.
1/27: Taggart arrested by Arcata Police Department for PC 1203.2(a) probation violation and PC 647 (f) public intoxication.
I am not going to keep listing Taggart's frequent arrests because January 2023 is what has gone on for years.
