Just 2 items on BOS agenda show elections do have consequences

On the January 24, Humboldt County Board of Supervisors agenda, you can see that elections do have consequences.

Fifth District Supervisor Steve Madrone  and Third District Supervisor Wilson are sponsoring a resolution Condemning Recent Hate Events in the Community. You can read and view the text and  staff report on the agenda.

Gone from his appointment on the 4th District Planning Commission is Mike Newman. Gone from his appointment on the Humboldt County Resource Conservation District is Ryan Rice. Rex Bohn's name is not on this agenda and Michelle Bushnell's name is on the agenda once.

If you are not familiar with Rice, I have linked some posts below. Like Blaine O'Shaughnessy, Rice and a few others have parlayed right wing talking points to get attention and personal benefit.

Rice made headlines protesting the COVID stay at home order, he is on Board of Directors for Farm Bureau and Humboldt Prosperity Alliance, the latest version of the HumCPR types claiming to be conservatives and anti government but okay with pot.

With the exception of the District Attorney and a couple of Supervisors, if someone is on KINS, their politics and views are obvious and they are definitely the good ole boy crowd who are privately lamenting diversity and any new blood they cannot control.

The good ole boys are still smarting why the 2010 tactics of plastering signs all over and throwing tons of money has not worked for the past several elections. Still in denial and blaming everyone but looking in the mirror. Will they change their behavior,? I doubt it.
